200 years ago, founder John Walker opened the doors to his convenience store in Kilmarnock.

John Walker & Sons Bicentenary blend 28 years - is the creation of Master Blender Jim Beveridge and his small team of whiskey experts have been inspired by the exciting varieties listed on an original inventory from John Walker's store. Use this whiskey as a window into the world where John started. Here complex whiskeys were carefully created with rich layers of aroma and flavor nuances where the imagination knows no bounds. Rare and unusual whiskies, from the distilleries of Pittyvaich, Cambus and Port Ellen all at least 28 years old. They have been selected to produce a whiskey that brings out the exotic flavors of the 1820s.

Back then, the aisles in the store were filled with the exotic ingredients that marked this store
rich era of exploration of flavors and aromas from around the world. There was Hyson tea from China, dark pepper from Jamaica, Italian licorice, and of course Scotch whisky. From their lively store that teemed with products. John, his son Alexander and later his grandsons began their quest to create whiskey. A whiskey that no one could compete with, by bringing together whiskeys from the four corners of Scotland.

Scent: It is complex with lots of layers of flavour, where a number of fruit aromas come together in a deliciously balanced style with warming spices and a soft rolling smoke with many different exotic scents with dried fruit and figs sweetened by hints of candied ginger. Then come berries with brown sugar and aromatic spices open up the scent again.
Taste: Again in several layers, where the first sip opens the doors to reveal delicious layers of spices mixed with sweet honey and rich molasses. There are waves of cocoa and beans and herbs with a soft smoke that carries you further down the aisles of John's shop with every sip.
Aftertaste: A sweet spice hangs as the door closes behind you.
