Deerstalker 12 years

It is said that a Deerstalker is born, not brewed. His existence is lonely, his only companions are the animals of the wildest regions – The golden eagle, the mountain hare.
He lives with the wind in his face, often drenched by snow and rain, often chilled by icy winds. But he warms himself with a dram a 'Uisge Beatha,' the Water of Life; His thoughts become uplifted and the problems of the townspeople are not his.

History:

Deerstalker as a brand was first owned by a wine and spirits merchant from Edinburgh named JG Thompson. He noticed the importance of trademarks and realized that these proudly, frankly, epitomized the spirit of the Highlands and registered the name and label depicted with Deerstalker in 1880, just five years after trademarks were invented.

The Deerstalker series specialize in independent bottlings from the Scottish Highlands. Preferably lesser-known distilleries, which you don't otherwise get access to.
Balmenach – A relatively unknown Speyside distillery from 1824. And yet, this is where the first legal license was granted by the English King back in 1824.

Since new owners took it over in 1997, no distillery bottlings of malt whiskey have been released.
