Rum Nation Trinidad 5 years Oloroso Sherry Finish (Release 2017)
Delicious and elegant 5 year Trinidad rum from Rum Nation, here has finished its aging in Oloroso Sherry casks. Its flavors of coconut and spring flowers are particularly enticing and refined. All mixed with notes from banana and lemon peel - which ends with a slightly nutty touch from the Oloroso sherry cask.
Scent: Lovely aromas of ripe lemons and lemon peel mixed with bananas and vanilla.
The taste: Light rum from Trinidad. Bananas and lemon peel that come between the lines of sweetness and dryness that unite with vanilla, coconut and a touch of pepper
Aftertaste: Final aging in Oloroso casks has given more body and a light nutty touch which finishes nicely.
The Rum Nation series was launched in 1999
In 1990, Fabio Rossi went to Scotland to visit distilleries, to taste casks and make some commercial deals. On some visits to the whiskey broker's agents, he discovered there were several old casks of British Guiana and Jamaican rum, stacked together with single malt. From the Roman colonies, these rums were sent to Scotland and England for aging. The fresher and subdued climate allowed for a more gradual maturation and to mix with the so-called Navy Rums.
During these visits, the idea came to create the series Rum Nation. Fabio Rossi and his father Mario Jr. has bought whiskey since 1956. They launched the range of single malt whiskey Wilson & Morgan in 1992 and in 1999 the idea became reality for the Rum Nation range
