AH Riise XO Reserve Port Cask is a composition of more than 15 different rum distillates with an average age of 20 years, which have been specially selected for this rum. The finished rum has subsequently had an additional aging / finish for 6 months in a port cask from the well-known house Cálem.

AH Riise XO Reserve Port Cask The production of this rum is very limited. Each Fad is specially selected and hand-bottled individually. All bottles are labeled with an individual bottle number and bottling year.

Scent: Lovely sweet notes with port wine notes.
Taste: Full and slightly spicy vanilla flavor with lovely fruity notes.
Aftertaste: Lovely finish with fruit, wild berries and port notes.

AH Riise XO Reserve Port Cask finished rum has subsequently received a Fad Finish aging for 6 months in a Port Vins cask (Pibe) from the well-known house Cálem.

Albert Heinrich Riise:

All of AH Riise's rums etc. are a tribute to one of the most enterprising Danes, Albert Heinrich Riise. He very successfully ran his pharmacy in Chalotte Amalie on St. Thomas in the period 1838 to 1878.
Albert (1810-1882) originally came from Ærøskøbing. He trained for a Pharm in Copenhagen. He was employed at the Kgl. Military and Waisenhus Pharmacy. He wanted to open his own pharmacy, and when the opportunity presented itself, he traveled to the island of Sankt Thomas in 1838. It was the Danish West Indies at the time. He opened his pharmacy which he called St. Thomas Apothecary Hall AH Riise.
It wasn't just pharmacy goods he sold, there was also money in dealing in household goods, cosmetics, preserves and chocolate etc. He opened a wholesale business and soon he was selling goods to the entire Caribbean archipelago.
