This 2010 vintage has exceptionally high quality from the Quinta dos Malvedos vineyard, which forms the main structure of Graham's classic Vintage Ports. In most intervening years the wines from Malvedos deserve to be bottled as a Single Quinta Vintage Port, as is the case here in 2010. In short, it is absolutely terrific.

Color: Dark red
Scent: Rich and concentrated with notes of blackcurrants and prunes.
Taste: Very full and nuanced with a complex structure.

Grape composition: Touriga Francesca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca

Suitable for both mild and strong cheeses, slightly sweet desserts as well as nuts and fruit.

About Portvinshuset:

The company only traded in textile goods until 1820. Then a customer could not pay his overdue bill to the company's branch in Porto. They were therefore forced to accept 27 pipes of port wine as payment. The port was sold with great success and was encouraged to repeat the trade. The company quickly built up a good reputation within port wine.

At the end of the 19th century, Graham's was one of the largest shippers and most recognized port wines. Young Scotsman Andrew James Symington was employed by the company in 1882 and after a few years he moved on to the world of port wine. In 1970 Graham's had financial problems and had to add capital. Then Symington's grandchildren took the opportunity to buy the house.

The Symington family today has a very central position within the world of port wine and owns some of the best port wine houses. Today, it is the 5th generation that manages their port wine houses.
