I munden er den fyldig, har masser af syrlige frugtnoter, gode tanniner, som er velintegrerede i smagen – et flot glas som skriger på braiserede svinekæber med mos og en god sovs.

I næsen åbner den til udtalte aromaer af jordbær, jordbærmarmelade, sorte kirsebær, krydderurter som oregano samt læder. I smagen finder man en frugtig, fyldig og sødmefuld smag med noter af modne sorte kirsebær, en let krydret note samt peber. Den har en dejlig koncentration i frugten samt en lille syre, der sikrer friskheden. En meget sødmefuld, fyldig og kraftig vin, som vil behage de fleste. Dog kunne den godt mangle lidt struktur. Vinen vil uden tvivl gå fantastisk til vinterens kraftige og krydrede retter, og dermed også til julens mad.

Le Clos du Caillou is one of the Rhône Valley's most renowned producers, known for its elegant and complex wines grown under organic and biodynamic principles. Located at the town of Courthézon, northeast of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Here, Le Clos du Caillou has a history that goes back to 1895, when the winery was founded by Élie Dussaud. Today, Le Clos du Caillou is a family-owned winery run with great respect for the natural terroir, resulting in wines with depth, character and authentic taste.
